Jev quant trading: how Jevtrader works

What is Jevtrader?

Jevtrader is a public Jev quant trading experiment: quantitative trading strategies paired with Jev model decisions in a paper account. It uses Jev to make trading decisions for US stocks and Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL), with simulated orders executed through Alpaca Paper Trading. The dashboard shows account value, profit and loss, positions, orders and model decision summaries.

What does Jev decide?

Jev evaluates market context against the configured strategy and selects actions and position sizes. This includes judgments about taking profits and cutting losses. Code gathers market data, translates decisions into orders and applies execution constraints. The experiment observes Jev in a running trading system; it is not a controlled comparison against other models.

Which strategies and trading sessions are used?

US stocks use a micro-pullback strategy with session-aware gainers selection during premarket, regular and after-hours sessions. BTC, ETH and SOL use a one-minute indicator strategy and are monitored around the clock. Market calendars, data availability and broker order rules still constrain execution.

How is account value calculated?

Displayed account value includes unrealized profit and loss and deducts cumulative Jev token cost. Trading costs are reflected in account values; historical crypto costs are estimated where necessary. Total P&L is measured against the opening baseline available in account history. The token-cost line shows cumulative model cost on its own scale.

Are these live-money returns?

No. The public experiment uses a simulated paper account. Paper fills and performance do not establish what a real-money account would earn. The dashboard updates as data arrives; delayed upstream data is identified on the page.

What can visitors inspect?

Visitors can view public decision summaries, positions, bot order records, broker orders and performance charts. Raw model inputs, prompts and full responses are not published. Share links preserve a screenshot and the corresponding P&L at creation time; they are historical snapshots, not continuously updating account statements.
